Barbour County 5075 Branch NAACP, President Rev. Allen Forte, Josephine Forte, Angela Paige, Alvin Forte, April Forte and Antwan Forte attended this event. The Alabama State conference Mr. Edward Vaughn was also in attendance and Georgia State Conference President Ed Dubose, along with Rev. Kenneth Glasgow, President of The Ordinary People Society. (TOPS) and The Prison Project.
We attended forums on Anti-violence, child abuse, and domestic violence also a skit on the truth behind hip-hop with Dr. J. H. Flakes, Jr. of Columbus GA. The mayor of Tuskegee, The honorable Johnny Ford gave a dynamic speech. On Saturday, Dr. Griff of the famous group “Public Enemy” of Atlanta gave a moving speech to the teens on Hip-Hop. Reggie Green famous actor, performer, and singer stared as “little Chris” in the hit movie “ Boyz in the Hood” spoke on education, self motivation and unity in our neighborhood. |
