The Barbour County NAACP was very excited about the awareness program held on Sunday, December 31, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Eufaula, Alabama where Rev. Sanford Johnson is the pastor.
We addressed many issues; such as police procedures, Sgt. Glanton from the Eufaula Police dept. was the spokesman. Domestic Violence, Tracey Dunlap and Shirlene Hill gave the overview; Prison Reform, Rev. Kenneth Glasgow enlightened us and gave us the statistics on the ration of imprisonment of our people. Rev. Frazier Jones gave us the 411 on the five-O. The program was beautifully concluded with a dynamic message by our president, Rev. Allen Forte “United and Stand”!
A very special surprise guest came to support our Program “Rev. Al Sharpton Sr. The program was a great success in making the community aware of what’s going on around us. The M.C., the first vice president, Mr. Leon Morris, kept the program on track. |
