NAACP Out On The Job

The Eufaula/Barbour County Branch #5075 held its first Voter Registration since it has been reactivated in May of 2006.  Members came out in full force to register members of the Barbour County Community.  The voter registration was held on October 21, 2006 at Wal-mart where the following members were present: Josphine Forte, Annette Wiburn, Sheryl Watson and Angela Paige.  Also during this same day George Gamble, Jimmy Robinson, and Rev. Allen Forte were located registering voters on Dale Rd & Washington St.

On the following weekend, October 28, 2006, Rev. Allen Forte, Shirley Johnson and Kavon Franklin visited Broad Street to register more voters.  During these two weekends along with other days during the week, the Eufaula/Barbour County Branch #5075 was able to register approximately 100 unregistered voters and among them were 50 exfelons and 10 of which were in the city jail.
