The president, Rev. Allen Forte, and his wife, Josephine Forte attended this dynamic conference that was very educational and enlightening. This was the first of it’s kind. Classes started at 7:00 a.m. with breakfast and lasted well into the night to 11:00 p.m.. There were instruction and speakers such as, Mr. Julian Bond, National Chairman of the board of directors spoke on the Civil Rights movement-then and now. Roslyn M. Brock Vice chairman of the National board of directors, Bruce S. Gordon President & CEO of the National NAACP spoke on reinvigorating the Civil rights movement; the charge to black leadership. Mr. George Fraser author; spoke on: Are we really connected?” Terry Mason, M.D., F.A.C.S. spoke on Public Health, Westina Matthews Shatteen spoke on Community, and to climax the conference, Rev. Paul Hollman, Pastor of Greater Beulah Baptist Church in Dothan, gave us a powerful message. |
