Hayes Interim president & CEO officially opened the 39th annual commerce and industry show with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday. There were health fairs, WIN empowerment forum brunch, legal education seminars; classes on education, economic empowerment were given. Honorable Senator and Republican Presidential candidate John McCain and Honorable senator Barack Obama Democratic Presidential candidate both gave enlightening speeches. Gospel Extravaganza-Rev. Donnie McClurkin, Dottie Peoples & Dr. Bobby Jones gave a soul stirring concert. Regina Bell and Bobby Rush also gave dynamic performances. The keynote speaker at the gala freedom fund banquet dinner was actor and star of the hit television show “CSI” Hill Harper. He got a standing ovation from the crowd. |
