On Oct. 22nd through 25th 2009 the Alabama State conference NAACP had its 57th Annual State Convention in the city of Decatur, Al. We had some crammed packed days of classes, motivational speakers from 8am till late nights. The state conference also had the election of officers for the state of Alabama. Ed Vaughn the state president was not running for re-election. Bernard Simelton the limestone county president won the office of state president,1st vice president elected was Rev. Allen Forte, ...Rev. Forte and the Barbour County branch was also honored for being one of the out standing branches in the state of Alabama. William Tarver the state chair for Disaster releif was also honor for his hard work in the state. Jimmy Robinson picture here recieving the award for Mr. Tarver. Autry Davis was also on hand at the conference.
